Allyson Dueck

When Allyson returned to Edmonton, she was eager to discover a spiritual community where she could truly feel at home. Her search came to an end the moment she attended her first Sunday Celebration at CSL, where she was immediately embraced by the joy and warmth of the community.
Allyson began her career as a high school math teacher, and throughout her professional journey, she has always gravitated towards roles that involved numbers, teaching, or a combination of both. Currently, she works as an accounting manager and also runs her own bookkeeping business. Allyson finds satisfaction in bringing order to financial records and designing systems that make processes more efficient.
Her love for the CSL community is expressed through her service at the concierge table, on the count team, and as the treasurer.
Allyson believes that the work we are doing is deeply meaningful and has the power to uplift us all. She is committed to her daily spiritual practice and knows that, together, we will embody the spiritual practices that create joy-filled lives.
Diane Berget
Secretary
I am honoured to express my interest in serving on the Board of our Centre for Spiritual Living.
I deeply believe that we are here to grow, evolve, and contribute to a loving and transformational world. My life’s work has been rooted in service — walking alongside women and families navigating crisis, trauma, and systemic barriers. Through domestic violence advocacy, court liaison work, and supporting those impacted by human trafficking, I have witnessed both profound suffering and profound resilience. This work has strengthened my faith in Principle, deepened my compassion, and expanded my capacity to recognize the Divine presence in every person.
Serving on the Board would support my continued growth as a spiritual leader. I view board service as sacred stewardship — holding vision, ensuring integrity, and helping create the conditions for transformation to flourish within our Centre and community.
I bring:
· Six terms of board experience, including three terms as Board Secretary at FASD Lakeland
· Strong governance and documentation skills
· Ethical leadership and confidentiality
· Trauma-informed awareness
· Clear and compassionate communication
· A deep commitment to spiritual growth and conscious evolution
I am entering my second year of Advanced Consciousness Studies and am deeply committed to personal growth, spiritual maturity, and transformational service. I value integrity, compassionate communication, and building strong, aligned structures that allow communities to thrive.
I am committed to serving with humility, responsibility, and an open heart and it would be a privilege to contribute to the continued evolution and impact of our Centre.

Jack Robinson
Trustee
Jack's biography testifies to a love of investigation, diligence, and communication. He began university at Carleton in Ottawa in 1969, originally studying journalism. He worked in this field for a few years but eventually wanted some greater academic depth and switched to English, completing an Honours Degree First Class in 1973 and a Master of Arts in 1975; then he moved to Edmonton to be near family and completed a Ph.D. at the University of Alberta in 1983.
A Fellowship enabled him to complete doctoral studies while living in Montreal, which he loved. He worked part-time at MacEwan from 1987, obtaining a full-time position in 1989.
Jack's disciplinary focus has always been in Canadian Literature, and his teaching and research have been influenced by a strong interest in writing and style. He served as Chair of the MacEwan English Department for six years from 2006 to 2012. The community college became a university in 2006, so those were years of much change. He became an Associate Professor in 2013 and has remained in that position.
From 2015 on, Jack developed an interest in Indigenous literature, mainly in Canada. He did research and taught several senior undergraduate courses in that area in addition to his customary Canadian Literature courses. He also participated in an Interdisciplinary Dialogue on Indigeneity with several colleagues, hosting many Indigenous speakers over several years.
During the Covid pandemic, he developed new first-year courses on Leonard Cohen and on the nascent field of Literature about Artificial Intelligence, which he is still teaching, though he retired in the summer of 2023 at the age of seventy-one. He continues to love reading literature, talking about it, writing, and discussing ideas with friends.
