Youth & Family Ministry
Purpose & Mission
We are a ministry that is filled with devoted and trusted servants who hold the sacred space for each child's unfoldment of consciousness. We practice the Presence of God together through utilizing the inspiring and fun curriculum created by International Centers for Spiritual Living, creating family outings and gatherings, and nurturing the expression of creativity through spiritual practice, music, and art.
About Us
Preschoolers ages 3-4, Youth Ages 5-9 and Pre-teens Ages 9-12 meet every Sunday at 10:00 and 11:30 am during the Sunday Service. Check in at the downstairs classroom with Rev. Connie or one of the other advisors before the service. You are welcome to stay with your children until they feel comfortable in the classroom.
Preschool Ages 3-4
Through storytelling, games, crafts and free play a space for the pre-school children is created that is safe, loving and affirming.
Youth Ages 5-9
2 adults each class
These classes are engaging and FUN, affirming the unique gifts and talents of each person and reminding the youth every week that they are prefect and beautiful expressions of God. Each class begins with a short affirming spiritual practice with the intention of making a conscious connection with God as we understand God. The focus is on God as love, peace, beauty, joy, life, power and light in and through all people and all life. The classes are experiential, and may include exercises, some yoga stretching, crafts, story telling, role play, games, music and meditation using the ICSL curriculum.
Youth Ages 9-12 "Pre-teens"
2 adults each class/outings
These classes are engaging and FUN, affirming the unique gifts and talents of each person and reminding the youth every week that they are prefect and beautiful expressions of God. Each class will begin with a short affirming spiritual practice with the intention of making a conscious connection with God as we understand God. We will focus on God as love, peace, beauty, joy, life power and light in and through all people and all life. The classes are designed to empower each youth by engaging in discussion and personal reflection of the concepts introduced. Real life examples and teachable moments add to the experiential nature of the lessons that may also include some yoga stretching, crafts, story telling, role play, games, music and meditation using the International Centers for Spiritual Living curriculum. Preteens have frequent opportunities to learn and practice SEVA (selfless service to others).
