Purpose & Mission
We compassionately provide caring support and spiritual comfort to congregants who are experiencing any of life's transitions and the familiar trials that characterize daily life. It is a ministry of presence, which is centered in caring acceptance, a non-judgmental stance and physical and emotional availability. It is focused on healing, guiding, supporting, reconciling, nurturing, liberating and empowering people in whatever situation they find themselves.

The Spiritual Care Team bring the presence of compassion and care to those in our spiritual community who are experiencing challenges involving:
- Serious illness
- Dying and death
- Grief and loss
The Team
- Visits in home or hospital and offers Affirmative Prayer
- Recognizes the Spiritual Principle of Wholeness
- Is a compassionate presence for those whose soul’s may be seeking transition
- Offers support to members and their families in grief and loss
- Provides resources and referrals

Rev. Catherine McLeod was born and raised in Alberta and has always been active in spiritual community. She visited the Centre in 1999 and was immediately attracted to the transformative teaching. She graduated as a staff minister 2006 and serves on Spiritual Care Team bringing the presence of compassion and care to members of our spiritual community who are experiencing serious illness, grief and loss. Catherine teaches classes and provides educational support to our Centre’s thriving learning community. Catherine worked for 15 years as the executive director of The GRIT Program an exemplary, fully inclusive, non-profit early childhood program for children with disabilities. She is committed to living and sharing the principles of this teaching, which creates healthy lives, caring communities and inspires a bigger idea of life.
